Goosehead high cuisine

This Goosehead high cuisine headline could be a joke but it’s not. Têtedoie, aka Goosehead in English, has nothing to do with a wild goose chase. It’s merely the name of a chef in Lyon. And I assure you we weren’t served goose head either. Our lunch was very good indeed. The restaurant is very trendy, on the heights of Fourvière, the hill above the old City of Lyon. Christian Têtedoie has opted for a very 70s vintage decor. Here are a few examples.

We should also mention the garden seats, sculpted from Plexiglas.

The pictures are a bit old. They were taken in 2012. In fact, the story is a bit of a sad one. I was best man to a wedding. 10 years later that couple divorced and I have mixed memories of that day. Memories of a good meal and a pleasant day spent with friends. At the same time I miss my friends.

It took place in April 2012, 12 years to the day. You will not find any pictures of food on this page. We will leave that to instagrammers, I used to do that a lot at the beginning of Instagram 15 years ago. But I must admit that I don’t use the platform very much anymore. And it’s certainly not a good idea because, Instagram is very important when it comes to photography, even though it’s a very different kind of photography altogether.

April is tulip season

And cherry blossoms as well.

The view from the restaurant is stunning, the April weather wasn’t. It’s all a bit sad, all this rain. In Italy (sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata)  and France (mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux), one claims that rain on one’s wedding day brings good luck, but it’s not always the case.
